Tessa + Josh | Blodgett Wedding Barn, Schoolcraft, Michigan
Tessa and Josh were married at the Blodgett Wedding Barn in Schoolcraft, Michigan and what a lovely day it was! Blodgett is a newer wedding venue and definitely worth checking out. The barn was first updated and used for the wedding of the owners' daughter! After her wedding, the owners were asked when they would start renting out, and one thing led to another, additions and updates were made, and the barn was converted into a lovely wedding venue with an indoor/outdoor feel surrounded by gardens and orchards. Unlike a lot of barn venues, this barn allows a lot of light to come in through a large open porch - so of course, I was a fan.
Tessa was one of the most relaxed brides I have ever had the honor of working with. We arrive for getting ready and details photos at the barn where there are two getting ready suites upstairs. I was completely in love with the vintage feel of the bridal suite and definitely enjoyed my time at this place. Suited perfectly for all this mood, Tessa wore her grandmother's wedding dress, which was also worn by her mother! This classic gown was such a fitting choice for the whole vibe of Tessa and Josh's summer barn wedding.
Once everyone was ready, Gabe and I positioned the groom in front of a field of sunflowers to await the first look with his bride. As usual, this first look did not disappoint.
Following the first look, we took portraits of the couple and the wedding party. The season was perfect for some cool photos with the corn field, for which I was super pumped haha.
The ceremony was held in the middle of the orchard and was the perfect fall setting.
After the ceremony, we took family formals and then it was time to party! As the weather was warm and sunny, guests spread throughout the grounds and mingled with drinks, played yard games, and celebrated with the couple. It was the perfect day and ended with the perfect golden hour warmth.
